How do I use these files?
When you download a file from the site they are packed in a zip. You need to have a program to open them and use them. You can use either WinZip
, Ultimate Zip, Win Rar or a program like these. A guide will follow with the programs.

Where do I put them?
Assuming you have followed Maxis's usual installation guide, you have to put them in My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads - after unzipping them!! With the skins you can also place them in My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Saved Sims if you want to devide your skins from your objects. Remember to get the meshes listed below the images, or the skins will NOT show in your game. If either of these folders don't exsist, you simply create them inside you The Sims 2 folder.

Why don't the skins show in my game?
Be sure your skins are unzipped - see above.
Otherwise the won't show. Also make sure to download the meshes reffered to below the images. They can be linked to other websites, but the are all free to access, though you might need to register.

What is a mesh?
A mesh is the actual SHAPE of the Sims body. It's the file that decides if you Sim is wearing a skirt or pants. The files I make are what is known as textures. The texture decides if the said skirt is black or red. You need the mesh or the game will not know what to do with the texture file.

Why is there no mesh in your zip?
Maxis didn't make very many meshes for the game - but you can find them online. A lot of sites do not allow redistribution of the meshes although the allow them to be recolored. This is also why sometimes I do not include meshes in the files. Be sure to check out the links below images that needs a new mesh. Follow the link and download the mesh. All the sites are FREE though some places you need to register.

Can't I use those skins without a mesh included?
Unfortunatly the meshes in The Sims 2
is basically cloned of the original texture and it forced to use the mesh it was made to use. You can't change it.
